Chitara — Celebrating the motifs of Bagh print from Madhya Pradesh

Bagh, or Thappa Chappai, is a traditional block printing technique from Madhya Pradesh that has been practiced for over 500 years. Our new Chitara collection is inspired by the glorious Indian summer garden — a print story rooted in nature, the ancient Bagh cave paintings, and the intricate jali (lattice) work of the Taj Mahal.

At Kaisori, we collaborate with artisan groups who are custodians of these age-old dyeing and printing traditions, bringing you a story of India’s rich craft legacy reimagined for today.

A range of hand block printed, natural dyed mill-made cotton sarees, crafted with love and tradition.

Fabric: Mill-made cotton, hand block printed with natural dyes
Size: 5.5 metres in length with blouse piece
Care Instructions: First wash – dry clean. Afterwards, a gentle quick wash at home in mild soap. Do not soak. Gentle ironing recommended.
